CALLING FOR ALL handmade enthusiasts. Indonesia now has Indoestri Day, which has come to its second showcase. Within the event, visitors are welcomed to join the whole rundown which included Press Conference, Indoestri Tour, the Showcase itself, Pasar Indoestri and Mini Craft activities (Chalk Handlettering and Rubber Stamp Making). The event programs were created with a distinct mission in mind, which is “to deliver and give exposure to potential makers so that their creations can be appreciated by a larger scale of audience.”
As Indoestri was created with a spirit of Self Made movement, the programs – be it during the event or their routine classes – were tailored to serve the purpose. The showcase, for example, exhibited works of Indoestri partners and corporate partners in their workshop areas. Visitors might also help these creative initiatives by purchasing their products in Pasar Indoestri, which took place in Dawn & Willow (Indoestri’s very own market space).
The event also meant as a means for Indoestri to introduce their new project called “Made in Indoestri.” It is basically three collaborative projects between Indoestri and Indonesia’s crowd-funding platform kitabisa.com that were divided based on their scale and level of complexity. The small one is called Vestigium. The title was taken from a shoe brand, Vestigium, which aims to donate a pair of shoes for unfortunate elementary school students in West Jakarta area for every pair shoes bought.
The medium project aims to create a one stop area for recycling. The team from Indoestri will transform a 1,000 square meter area under the West Outer Ring flyover for recycling zone and Public Park. The large project will be working on Prefab Housing Concept that gives housing solution for metro urban family with affordable price range.
